Morrison Street, SW11

Project Description

Location: Morrison Street, Battersea, SW11

Type of Project: Side infill extension with associated internal alterations

Architectural Designer: APT Designers & Partners

Project Description:
Morrison Street is a project we undertook from concept stage 0. The client appointed APT to prepare the design, planning application, structural engineering, building control detail and construction works. The brief is a rear kitchen side infill extension on the ground floor.

Unique Features

The client is extremely happy about the new space perception with openness and natural illumination of the kitchen.

The most effective feature of the project is how the living room, connects with the dining room within an open plan setting from the front to rear of the property.  The client also went for the design to feature the exposed painted steel RSJ beam to colour match them with the patio doors and kitchen cabinets.

Sulivan Road, Hurlingham, SW6

The Challenges

Throughout the property, we managed to create a very airy and fresh design using white paintwork and generally light tones in the rest of the décor. We fitted lovely beech wood flooring in a number of the rooms, and in the hallway and bathrooms we opted with a high-end marble finish. In the kitchen, we matched the flooring with bespoke wooden cupboards that were designed and created by our joinery, who were also responsible for the stunning black dining table and a number of other made-to-measure fittings. We created a contemporary open-plan kitchen, and remodelled it into a beautiful design, with light grey accents and skylight windows that really enhance the natural lighting.

Upstairs, we converted the loft into two homely double bedrooms, complete with an ensuite bathroom.

Both bathrooms were designed uniquely, with one decorated in tiles, and the other with luxury marble and wooden elements.

The Challenges

Our team managed to completely transform the interior design in this property to a more sophisticated and modern finish. In the lounge area, we opted for light, pastel colours, large windows, bespoke mirrored cupboards and state of the art lighting. For the flooring, we used gorgeous beech wood in most living areas.

We also completely revamped the staircase, and fitted ceiling lights in most rooms. In the kitchen area, we installed mirrors to create the effect of a larger space and fitted the flooring with marble tiles.

Our joinery created lovely bespoke kitchen units and fittings throughout the property, in a range of different colours and uniquely designed styles. We carried out a basement conversion and turned it into a fabulous entertainment room, creating a really cozy vibe, complete with corner sofas and wooden walls and adjustable lighting.
